While Culver Wants to Stay the Course, Iowans Still Waiting for Jobs
Strawn: For 114,000 unemployed Iowans, staying the course isn’t good enough
DES MOINES – The Republican Party of Iowa today, following news of another month of high unemployment, said it’s time for Iowans to elect a governor who is serious about creating jobs. Figures released this morning show Iowa’s unemployment rate for August at 6.8%.
Multiple published reports today say Governor Chet Culver will stay the course with his current jobs creation plans if he’s re-elected in November. Iowa GOP Chairman Matt Strawn said, “For 114,000 unemployed Iowans, staying the course isn’t good enough. Chet Culver has tried and failed to spend his way into job creation. Unemployed Iowans can’t afford to stay the course with the Culver Administration. That’s why they’ll elect Terry Branstad – a proven leader – in November.”
